What Color Season Am I? A Simple 3-Question Test

Seasonal color analysis puts everyone into one of 12 color seasons. You can get surprisingly close to yours with three questions. Grab a mirror, stand by a window in daylight and take off any makeup.

Question 1: Is your undertone warm or cool?

Hold something pure white next to your face, then something cream. Look at gold and silver jewelry too.

  • Cream and gold look better, skin looks golden or peachy: warm.
  • White and silver look better, skin looks pink or rosy: cool.
  • You honestly can't tell: neutral.

Not sure? Our guide on how to find your skin undertone has six tests.

Question 2: Is your coloring light, medium or deep?

Look at your hair (natural color), eyes and skin together.

  • Light hair, light eyes, fair skin: light.
  • Dark hair and dark eyes: deep.
  • Somewhere in between: medium.

Question 3: Is your coloring bright or soft?

Take a black and white photo of your face, or squint at the mirror.

  • Strong difference between your hair, skin and eyes, eyes look clear and sparkly: bright.
  • Everything blends gently, nothing jumps out: soft.

Put the answers together

Find the line that fits you best:

  • Warm + light → Light Spring
  • Warm + medium + clear → True Spring
  • Warm or neutral + bright → Bright Spring
  • Cool + light → Light Summer
  • Cool + medium + gentle → True Summer
  • Cool or neutral + soft → Soft Summer
  • Warm or neutral + soft → Soft Autumn
  • Warm + medium + rich → True Autumn
  • Warm or neutral + deep → Deep Autumn
  • Cool or neutral + deep → Deep Winter
  • Cool + strong contrast → True Winter
  • Cool or neutral + bright → Bright Winter

If two lines fit, you're probably between neighbor seasons. That's very common: Soft Autumn and Soft Summer, or Deep Autumn and Deep Winter, look similar and share many colors.

How to confirm your season

Pick two or three colors from each of your candidate seasons and hold them under your face in daylight. The right season makes your skin look even and your eyes brighter. The wrong one makes you look tired, grey or yellow.
